School Day

The gates open at 8.25am. Children can go in to class from 8.30am to begin learning. School doors close at 8.40am. all late arrivals must enter via the main school office.

Lunchtime starts at 11.45am for Reception and KS1 classes and 12.00pm for Key Stage 2 classes. School finishes at 3.00pm for Reception, Year 1 and Year 2, for Years 3 & 4 school fnishes at 3.10pm and for Years 5 & 6 finishes at 3.15pm.

The total opening hours per week (term time) are 32.5 hours.

Playtime

 The children have the opportunity to use a variety of play and games equipment during morning and lunchtime play. This includes a climbing frame, trim trails, balls, skipping ropes, hoops, stilts and space hoppers. The equipment is very popular with the children and helps to ensure that playtimes pass happily and actively.

We encourage all children to bring a piece of fruit to eat at playtime. 

Lunchtimes

At lunchtime the children are supervised and cared for by our teaching and learning support assistants.

 Our catering staff prepare a healthy menu for the children having school lunches. Universal free school meals are available to all infant children and those families who meet the specified criteria.   Please do apply for them if you are entitled.

Children receiving free school meals are not identifiable and there is no stigma attached to having them. All you need to do is collect a form from the office and we will apply on your behalf.   Children may also bring a packed lunch from home if they prefer.

Late collection

We know families can be delayed when collecting their child from school. If you know you are going to be late please contact the school office as soon as possible. All children who are collected late should be collected from the school office. The school day ends at 3.10pm and the school office team will look after children who are collected late until 3.30pm.  After this, they will be taken to the after school provision and a fee will be charged.
