Allergy Awareness

The safety and wellbeing of all children is our priority. As an allergy-aware school, we ask families not to send products containing nuts and to support us in reducing the risk of exposure to allergens. We maintain individual healthcare plans for pupils with diagnosed allergies, ensure staff receive appropriate training, and have procedures in place to respond to allergic reactions.

Our approach reflects the principles of Benedict’s Law, which strengthens allergy safety in schools through clear policies, staff training, emergency medication and effective communication with families. How much does a school meal cost and what’s included?

 There has long been a positive association between learning outcomes and nutrition.   School meals are FREE for all Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 pupils, regardless of household income (a saving of over £480).  This entitles your child to a balanced main course, dessert, fresh bread daily and access to a salad bar.

If your child is in Year 3 or above, the cost per meal is £2.90 from September 2025.

Free School Meal Eligibility & Pupil Premium Application Forms

Free school meals can be provided to pupils if Parents/Guardians meet the eligibility criteria set out in the forms below.

All Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a Government Funded Universal Free School Meal,. However we would ask that if you meet any of the eligibility criteria set out in the Reception and Key Stage 1 form below,  that you complete and return it to the school office.  This enables us to check for any pupil premium funding that the school may be able to claim in order to support your child’s learning.

All children from Year 3 upwards would need a form completed so that eligibility for Free School Meals and Pupil Premium Funding can be checked.

Pupil Premium is additional funding given to schools for pupils who have been registered as being entitled to Free School Meals (FSM) at any point in the last 6 years.  Schools receive this funding to support their eligible pupils an narrow the attainment gap between them and their peers.  Further information about how the school spends its Pupil Premium can be found here.
